Jury
duty is the solemn responsibility of every citizen. It is the rock of
the criminal justice system and provides the individual an opportunity
not only to support and benefit from that system, but to participate
in it. It was never intended, however, that the jury become its victim.
In 1982, following six weeks of trial and three days of deliberation,
a jury of seven men and five women sitting in the Allegheny County Courthouse
in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, convicted, and sentenced to death, Alphonse
Fabrizi, Pittsburghs mob Godfather. When, 16 years after the trial
which brought them together, those jurors are being systematically and
brutally murdered, Jake Steele, a private investigator in Pittsburgh,
is engaged to solve the mystery.
This fictional story follows Steele and Pittsburgh Police Homicide
Detective Mel Tripp through a complicated and dangerous investigation
that changes the lives of both men forever.
